Martha's Rule - is in your contract. Are your teams ready?
Every NHS Trust must have Martha's Rule in place by 31st March 2027, and staff training is one of the six core standards. HEARD is a practical, simulation-based programme, that helpsyour teams to meet these requirements, and we've build it for every setting

31st March 2027
All NHS trusts and Foundation Trusts must implement Martha's rule's Three core components under the 2026/2027 NHS Standard Contract.

How HEARD supports the six core standards:
NHS England has set six core standards for Martha's Rule.
HEARD gives you the direct evidence for the training and awareness standards, plus support and knowledge for the rest

Teams map their own escalation route, including where there's no outreach team
Staff practice SBARD handovers and calling for reviews, including when first response is inadequate
Every scenario includes a concerned relative/advocate: Dedicated session on actively listening to families
Staff are able to explain the three core components and how a family can ask for a review
Simulation - based training, with attendance reporting and pre/post confidence data and follow -up
A summary reoprt for your organisational self-assessment and trust board level recommendations/guidance
