• Explain the purpose and importance of physiological observations in patient monitoring and care

• Accurately measure core physiological parameters, including:

• Heart rate

• Respiratory rate

• Blood pressure

• Temperature

• Oxygen saturation

• Level of consciousness

• Urinary Output & Markers of Dehydration

• Neurological Assessment 

• Blood Glucose Monitoring

• Apply the NEWS2 and RESTORE2 frameworks to interpret observation data

• Identify abnormal physiological readings and understand their clinical significance

• Record observations clearly, accurately, and in accordance with professional standards

• Communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team, including escalation when necessary

• Demonstrate confidence in monitoring patients across a variety of healthcare settings

• Integrate observations into patient care plans to support safe, timely, and effective interventions
