Oxygen & Nebuliser Therapy Workshop
This 4-hour workshop is designed for healthcare professionals, including nurses, healthcare assistants, and allied health staff, who wish to gain practical knowledge and skills in the safe administration of oxygen and nebulised medications.
The course provides a blend of theory and hands-on practice, covering the principles of oxygen therapy, device selection, monitoring, and the safe use of nebulisers.
Participants will develop confidence in assessing patients’ respiratory needs, delivering therapy accurately, and recognising potential complications, ensuring safe, patient-centred care in a variety of clinical settings.

On Completion learners will:

Explain the physiological principles and clinical indications for oxygen therapy

Identify different oxygen delivery devices (e.g., nasal cannula, simple mask, non-rebreather mask) and select the most appropriate device for a patient’s condition

Set and titrate oxygen flow safely according to clinical guidelines and patient needs

Understand and apply monitoring techniques, including oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and patient observation

Recognise and respond to complications or adverse effects associated with oxygen therapy

Describe the principles of nebulised therapy and its clinical indications

Demonstrate correct preparation, administration, and cleaning of nebuliser devices

Educate patients on safe use of oxygen and nebuliser therapy at home

Document therapy accurately in line with professional and local standards
