On completion learners will be able to:

  • Recognise common childhood and infant emergencies and understand their potential severity

  • Respond confidently and calmly in emergency situations involving babies and children

  • Demonstrate basic first aid skills, including safe positioning, airway management, and CPR for infants and children

  • Identify when and how to seek emergency medical help effectively

  • Understand how to manage choking episodes in babies and young children

  • Apply simple strategies to prevent accidents and injuries in everyday settings

  • Gain confidence in assessing a situation and prioritising actions in a paediatric emergency

  • Communicate effectively with emergency services and provide accurate information in a crisis
